FFA chapter welcomes state officers
At the Sept. 13 FFA meeting, guests were FFA State President Joe Buffington, Diamond Mountain Chapter, Eureka; FFA State Vice President Andrea Paris, Ruby Mountain Chapter, Elko; and honorary chapter member past FFA State President Chad Ventures. They are all attending the University of Nevada, Reno, and it was a privilege to have them attend one of the chapter meetings. Members thank them.
Elections for chapter sentinels were held. Elected were Kyle Martinez and David Hoskin.
The chapter will hold a rummage sale Saturday, Sept. 23, starting at 10 a.m. at the parking lot of Douglas High School. Proceeds from this sale will be used to help fund the chapter members who are planning to go to the FFA national convention in Louisville, Ken., Oct. 23-27. The chapter will also be selling beef jerky and using these funds to help finance the trip.
The next FFA chapter meeting will be held Oct. 11, 7 p.m., in the ag room at Douglas High School.
