FFA chapter gets ready for year
The Carson Valley FFA chapter has been busy working on an assortment of fund raisers. On Oct. 17, our chapter helped add more fun to the 4-H Harvest Festival which was held at Lampe Park. The booth was made up of a game where you went fishing for ducks. Each person who won received a prize. Even though it was a bit cold, all of our members had a great time helping out.
On the night of Oct. 30, our chapter took photos at The Record-Courier’s Trick or Treat Safety Street at the CVIC hall. The night was a great success, and all of our members had fun being there.
The current fund-raiser we are doing is selling fruit which is grown in Florida. The boxes of fruit will be shipped directly from Florida to Gardnerville, and the shipment should be in by the middle of December. The fruit that is offered is as follows: navel oranges, red grapefruit, citrus sampler (navel oranges and red grapefruit), gift box (navel oranges, grapefruit and apples), fresh trio (navel oranges, grapefruit and pears), fresh medley (navel oranges, apples and pears), tangerines, Washington red apples, juice oranges, tangelos, pina pack (pineapple).
The cost ranges any where from $8.50-$35.00.
If you are interested call 782-5136, ext. 1601. All of the fund-raisers have been and continue to help for chapter activities including zone and state convention coming up in March of 1999.
