Family Support Council offers workshop for parents

Staff reports

The Family Support Council will present a workshop, “Parenting the Defiant and Challenging Child,” on Thursday, June 25, from 6-9 p.m.

The frustrations that arise from the everyday struggles associated with raising a child with attention deficits and disruptive behaviors can leave a parent feeling isolated and out of control.

The goal of the workshop is to teach skills that will develop children’s courage and gain success which are the building blocks of healthy self-esteem.

For more information, contact the Family Support Council at 782-8692. Pre-registration is required. Free babysitting will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. This workshop is funded by the Frances C. and William Smallwood and Byrne Foundations.
