Extension to hold public speaking classes for youths
Do you want your child to be less terrified of public speaking than you are? Help him or her to overcome the fear by enrolling them in “Speaking With Confidence,” a free course offered by University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
“Speaking With Confidence,” for youths ages 9-19, will be held at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension office, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, on Mondays, Feb. 5-April 9 (excluding holidays), 4 to 5 p.m.
The course will be presented by Steve Lewis, Douglas County extension educator, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension.
Students will learn basic public speaking skills to build upon throughout their lives. And, according to Lewis, “The earlier kids begin public speaking, the easier it will become as they face it throughout their lives.”
Call 782-9960 for more information or to enroll. Seating space limits enrollment to 20 students.
