Douglas Democrats slate annual picnic

Douglas County Superintendent of Schools Teri White will address the community at the Douglas County Democrats’ annual picnic July 25 in Mormon Station Park, Genoa.

In announcing the program, Douglas County Democratic Central Committee chairwoman Kimi Cole commented, “Education is the foundation of our Democracy, and the great equalizer.”

The event, sponsored by Douglas County Democrats, will be held from 2-5 p.m.

White was named superintendent in June. She is the former human resources director, and has served as an assistant superintendent in Lyon County and as superintendent in Mineral County.

The picnic program includes comments from several Democratic office seekers or their representatives.

Barbecued tri-tip, hot dogs, veggie burgers, beans and salad round out the picnic menu.

Admission is $15 with children under 12 admitted free of charge. Food will be served at 2:30 p.m.
