Dog classes offered

Staff Reports

The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Division will offer a new six-week session in dog obedience with instructor Guy Yeaman starting soon.

Class dates are Wednesdays, Aug. 27 to Oct. 1. The registration fee is $60, and classes will be held on the track field at Carson Valley Middle School.

Students and their canine companions will learn to use a light-handed approach in establishing good conduct and curbing bad habits. Yeaman will help students teach their dogs to obey the commands: heel, sit, stand, stay and recall. Each dog will need a fabric or leather leash and a choke chain.

Pre-registration is required for all recreation classes. For more information, call the recreation division at 782-9828.
