Discovery Center offers spaces

Staff reports

The Discovery Center, a developmental preschool for ages 3 to 5, is offered at 1631 Esmeralda Place in Minden by the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department.

The philosophy of the center, according to Cindy Webb, director, is to provide as many different experiences as possible to the children.

“Because children grow and change in many different ways,” she said, “they need an environment with experiences that nourish them according to their own stage of development.

“We work to improve the self-image, competence and confidence in each child, which produces an eager and interested student in the future.”

The program is offered in optional schedules, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., one, two or three days a week. Tuition is based on $11 a day.
