DHS students learn about job interviews
Mock interviews gave high school students the chance to learn what a real job interview would be like with the help of community volunteers.
It was the second year that students in Michael Schneider’s practical English class participated in the interviews.
“Thanks to the participation from community volunteers and Christie List from DHS, this year the students were able to select form a wide range of possible careers,” Schneider said. “The students completely enjoyed this activity and realized the importance of preparation. But more importantly, they received a taste of the future and began to see that they are a part of the community.”
Those who participated were Bunny Peterson of DHS occupational education department; Nan Franklin, 24-Hour Fitness, Carson City; Dan Evans, Evans Computer Drafting; Dawn Goodpasture, Cottonwood Care Center; Belinda Grant, R-C photographer; Joe Zeilinksi, Jody Shaeffer and Libby Ragsdale, Harrah’s Tahoe; Juanita Lamley, DHS vice principal; Sgt. Peter Falso, U.S. Army; Bill Kirschner, entrepreneur; and Lisa Borselli, Silvano’s Restaurant, Carson City.
