Debate judge volunteers are sought
On March 20 and 21, the finest of Nevada’s high school speakers and debaters will assemble at Douglas High School for the Nevada Forensics Association State Championships.
More than 300 students will take part, according to Marty Cronin, DHS speech and debate coach.
Cronin issued a call for volunteer judges to judge the many events.
“If you are new to forensics judging, or would like a refresher, I am offering two brief evening clinics to orient the judging pool to the state championship events,” Cronin said.
The same information will be offered at both clinics, so volunteer judges may choose the one best for his or her schedule. The clinics are slated for March 16 and 19 at 7 p.m. at the high school in room 401.
“One of the reasons DHS has been selected as a venue is because of the well-known community support for this activity,” Cronin said.
“We need your help. As usual, we will be providing our complimentary food and beverages during the tournament to the judges as a token of appreciation.”
For more informaiton or to volunteer, call Cronin, 782-5121 or 782-5761.
