Dealng with effects of divorce workshop coming up
The devastation of divorce can alter a person’s sense of oneself for life if not dealt with in a succint manner, not to mention the effects it can have on children. Life is tough enough in this day and age, yet when coupled with the complexities of divorce issues such as custody, child support, alimony, Dad’s house, Mom’s house, and Dad’s rules verse Mom’s rules the day to day process can be insurmoutable. Answers on how to get through this time of extreme stress are far and few between, yet there are positive steps one can take to help lessen the blow.
Family Support Council is offering a two day workshop to help meet the needs of people thrown into this situation. The workshop will deal with topics such as stages of loss and grief, how to deal with anger, communicating with the other parent, games adults play, games children play, custody issues and discipline just to mention a few.
The two-day workshop is on Tuesday, June 27, and Thursday the 29. Classes are held from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Childcare is available on the premises at no charge and pre-registration is required because of limited seating. There is a $20 cost for materials.
