Deadline coming for food closet golf tourney
Deadline for entry for the Carson Valley Men’s and Women’s Club first “Mulligan Stew” golf tournament is Sunday, June 25.
The tournament is Sunday, July 9, at the Carson Valley Golf Course. All proceeds will be presented to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet.
Tee time will be at 8:30 a.m. with a four-person scramble, blind draw, shotgun start. Each player will receive two Mulligan’s for a donation of 5 pounds of non-perishable food to be donated to the CVC Food Closet. There is a limit of two Mulligans per player, but there is no limit on the amount of food donations. The food closet van will be at the course to accept the food donations.
There will be many, many donated tee and raffle prizes and a late lunch will be served at the Carson Valley Country Club.
Green fees of $45 per player includes cart and lunch. Non-players may enjoy the lunch for a donation of $8.
Entry forms can be obtained at the Carson Valley Golf Course or by mailing a check to Carson Valley Men’s Club, P.O. Box 928, Minden 89423. Include your handicap or approximate 18-hole score. The field is limited to the first 100 players. Entries will be received no later than June 25.
The food closet, a non-profit organization manned solely by volunteers, provides food year-round to families who qualify through Douglas County Social Services. Summer is historically a slack time for donations and your participation in this tournament will be greatly appreciated.
