DCHS class of ’49 holds reunion
The Douglas County High School Class of 1949 held its 50th reunion at the JT Bar and Dining Room in Gardnerville on Saturday, Aug. 28.
The table was decorated with orange and black balloons, orange and black baskets filled with gold coins and nuggets, orange flowers and a bottle of wine. On the wall was a beautiful welcome sign stating “50 years.”
Refrigerator magnets in the form of a blackboard with the words “School friends make the best friends” were given as favors. Sheets of paper were passed out to each graduate with the school mascot, a tiger, with a “welcome home 49ers” motif.
Thirteen members out of a class of 27 were present. Lee Hansen, a retired college professor from Santa Rosa, acted as master of ceremonies.
