DCCA-TV offers series, discussion

Staff reports

A first-time telecast of the 13-week series “The Truth Seekers” will be shown on Douglas County Community Access Television, Channel 26 each Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Titles of the programs include “Atlantis to the Sphinx,” “The Sphinx to the Shifting Crust of the Earth,” “The Physics of Consciousness,” “Fingerprints of the Gods” and “Math Tour Through Prehistory.”

Also, beginning today, a special program will be offered each Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. for two weeks.

“There is little comfort in words when a son or daughter is taken from their home, by authorities, and sent to a state or county correctional facility,” says Marion Weissheimer of DCCA-TV.

The program will offer information on the environment, routines and administrators of such institutions in an attempt to ease the fears often experienced by family and friends of these young men and women, she said.

As part of DCCA-TV’s AARP Lecture Series, Director Steve Thaler and Program Manager Tom Umphries of the China Spring Youth Camp and the Aurora Pines Girls Facility will speak on these subjects.

For more information, call Weissheimer at 782-6010.
