Dancers back from Disney World

by Pete Nelson

All About Dance was proud to represent the community at Walt Disney World’s “Magic Music Days.” During winter break, 23 dancers and 15 chaperones and families traveled to Orlando, Fla., where the dancers performed a 30-minute show in Disney World.

This was the third time that All About Dance has performed for Disney World, and the experience remains one the dancers will not soon forget. This trip also included a cruise on The Big Red Boat, where they performed on stage while docked in the Bahamas.

Shortly after returning home to the Carson Valley, the staff of All About Dance took 65 dancers to Reno where they entered the Broadway Magic dance competition. Dancers ranged in age from 5 to 73 and brought home eight first-place and 11-second place trophies. The dedication of these dancers to attend an all-day competition attests to their love of dance.

In addition, All About Dance announces the public debut of the professional performing team, “Dance Explosion,” performing “Timesteps, Welcome to the New Millennium” Saturday, May 6, on the Carson City Community stage.

Curtain time is 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. A promotional video will be taped with audience participation, so all tickets are being offered at the special rate of $4. Because of the equipment involved for the taping, we regret that children under 12 can not be admitted.
