CVMS students sing for seniors

Staff reports

There is a new class at Carson Valley Middle School called Leadership. In order for the students to get into this class, they have to fill out a form explaining why they want to be in this class, how they think they can help their school and the responsibility they think it will take to become a good leader.

The Leadership class has 33 students, both in 8th and 9th grade. These students are expected to follow all school rules and to become role models and leaders for the other students.

Some of the tasks students fulfill in this class are going to convalescent homes like Residential Care Center and Baron Memorial Skilled Nursing at Virginia Creek. During a trip to the convalescent homes, they sang Christmas carols, visited with patients and enjoyed a snack of cookies and punch.

At Carson Valley Middle School, students also put on assemblies about respect and being drug-free. These assemblies seem to have a great impact on the students in the school. The Leadership class takes pride in leading the school into a successful future.
