Man sought in felony DUI back in custody
A man who shipped his transdermal alcohol device back to Douglas County with the band cut is back in custody.
Dara Siev, 42, was arrested on a bench warrant in Florida and transported back to Douglas County on Friday.
Siev is facing a charge of felony third DUI.
Siev appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Monday where attorney Derrick Lopez was appointed to represent him.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7. His bail remains at $25,000.
Siev, 41, of Pinellas Park, Fla., was reported Oct. 1, 2015, as a reckless driver on Highway 395 near Airport Road.
According to the sheriff’s report, there was a 25-ounce Budweiser in the cupholder. A preliminary breathalyzer test revealed .213.
Siev was allegedly involved in an alcohol related wreck at South Lake Tahoe in 2013.
■ Prosecutors are seeking more time to charge a case in which a Topaz Ranch Estates man was arrested on Thanksgiving for allegedly menacing a family member with a baseball bat.
The victim said the man came up to her with the bat in his hand and insisted she leave.
■ A 34-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested for allegedly grabbing his father by the neck during a dispute on Friday afternoon.
When deputies arrived, they found the man was intoxicated.
■ A Gardnerville woman was arrested Nov. 22 on charges of burglary, theft and fraud after she allegedly used her parents’ credit card to purchase two gift cards and cigarettes totaling $1,000.
