Hit and run lands man in jail on multiple charges
A Mound House man was arrested on hit and run charges following a multi-vehicle accident on Aug. 14.
Trevor A Loyd, 45, was arrested on hit and run with injury, driving with a suspended license, no insurance and no registration.
Deputies responded to reports of an accident near State Route 88 and Centerville where the driver of a truck fled the scene. Witness statements led deputies to locate Loyd near the 900 block of Heavenly View Road where Loyd had attempted to ditch the vehicle and flee on foot.
When arrested, Loyd told deputies he ran because he “freaked out” when the accident occurred.
A Gardnerville woman was arrested on suspicion of a second DUI Saturday night.
At 9:55 p.m., deputies were on patrol in the area of Palomino and Highway 395 when they noticed a vehicle with inconsistent speeds and failing to maintain a lane. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and arrested a 54-year-old woman for DUI-second offense, open container and driving with a suspended license. The woman had a blood alcohol level of .176 percent.
Her bail was set at $3,840.
A man also was arrested for DUI Saturday after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Dresslerville Road.
He was arrested on suspicion of DUI after deputies noticed a vehicle failed to maintain a lane. His blood alcohol level of .144 percent.
His bail was set at $1,500.
A Gardnerville woman also was arrested Saturday for domestic battery.
Sara J. Stewart, 22, was arrested for domestic battery and an Alternative Sentencing Violation after deputies responded to the 1300 block of Berning Way at 10:11 p.m. for a domestic. It was determined that Stewart punched her victim in the face. She had a blood alcohol level of .202 percent.
Her bail was set at $3,000.
