Accused burglar faces three counts

by Amy Alonzo

A Dayton man was arrested March 10 on three counts of residential burglary.

Cody W. Jeffcoat, 30, is accused of committing three Douglas County burglaries perpetrated in January.

On Jan. 19, jewelry estimated at worth more than $5,700 was reported stolen from a Minden residence.

On Jan. 24, a safe that contained paperwork including passports and birth certificates was reported stolen at a Johnson Lane-area residence.

A second burglary was reported in the Johnson Lane area that same day, but nothing was reported missing.

Similar-sized footprints were found at all three locations and a silver Dodge pickup also was reported seen outside each of the residences. The truck and footprints also matched those reported at several Carson City burglaries, according to court documents.
