Coyote Chase coming up in Smith Valley
The 14th annual Beta Sigma Phi “Coyote Chase,” 5K and 10K and a 2-mile walk, will be held Saturday, June 17, in Smith Valley.
The event raises funds for community projects. Starting time is 8:30 a.m. at Smith Valley High School on Day Lane off Highway 208.
Awards will be presented after the race. Trophies will be given to the top first, second and third place finishers in the women’s and men’s 5K and 10K races, and the first finisher in the 2-mile walk. Ribbons will be presented to the first three finishers in each age group in the 5K and 10K.
All registered runners and walkers will receive a pancake breakfast, and the first 200 registrants will receive a T-shirt designed by a Smith Valley School students. The breakfast, hosted by Smith Valley youth baseball, is also available to the public.
A book sale, arts and crafts booths and live musical entertainment will complete the festivities.
