Cordes speaks at library event
Betty Cordes, rancher, was on hand at the Douglas County Public Library last Wednesday to teach kids a little more about cows and ranching in Nevada.
Children were ushered in before Cordes and listened as she explained the different tools needed for identifying cows and keeping them healthy.
Display cases were set up for the children to see the different examples of cow by-products. One edible by-product was gummy bears. They were given to the kids as samples for a more hands-on learning experience.
Today, real live tortoises will be roaming the library grounds and Cary Larsen will be on hand to talk about the state reptile.
