Comedy Night coming up
Another fun-filled comedy Night Live will be held in the Carson Valley Inn’s Shannon Ballroom starting at 9 p.m. on Saturday night, Jan. 3. Admission to the two-hour comedy show is just $10 in advance at the casino cashier and $12 at the door.
Leland Cotton Brown is the headline performer with his collage of impressions, music and stand up comedy. He does unique take-offs of Gene Wilder, Jack Nicholson, Steven Segal and many other actors. Brown also has a special knack for commentary of musical styles from the blues to Bach, country and western to today’s singers. He has appeared at many major comedy clubs and has also done TV comedy shows, such as Comedy Tonight, Caroline’s, An Evening at the Improv and others.
Dennis Gaxiola is a rising young Latino comedian who optimizes his life’s experiences to look at the humorous side of many of today’s issues. A native of Berkeley, Calif., and a member of the U.S. Air Force, he presents a positive image for the Latino community with a mixture of social commentary and personal experience that create a perfect blend of main stream humor from an urban perspective. He has appeared on NBC’s Friday Night, The Comedy Club and at a number of colleges and special events. Gaxiola can also be seen at the Punchline, Tommy T’s, Laughs Unlimited and the Laugh Factory.
Kat Simmons continues to serve as producer and emcee for the Inn’s Comedy Night Live series. Simmons’ wit and charm all combine to produce a guaranteed fun – and funny- evening.
The Carson Valley Inn Hotel/Casino/RV Resort is located on Highway 395 in Minden, near the junction of Highway 88. The inn is just 45 minutes south of Reno and a scenic 25-minute drive from Lake Tahoe’s South Shore.
