Staff reports

The divorce rate is not declining.

“Many parents are finding themselves in the midst of this situation and in dire need of some support,” says Cary Jackson of the Family Support Council.

The council will offer a two-day “Co-Parenting After Divorce Workshop” Tuesday and Thursday, March 20 and 22, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Topics such as communicating with the other parent, stages of loss and grief, dealing with anger, helping children through divorce, helpful hints for effective parenting, games adults play, games children play and much more will be discussed.

There is a $20 material fee, and free child care will be offered on the premises.

For more information, call 782-8692, or stop by the office at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville to pre-register.

A library with books on many topics for adults and children is available at the office. The books may be checked out at no charge.
