Co-parenting after divorce class set

Staff reports

During the process of divorce, parents may be struggling to redefine their relationship with their former spouses as well as helping their children cope with the separation of the family. Anger, pain and the lack of knowledge regarding how to help themselves and their children during this trying time often magnify this struggle. This is why Family support Council is offering a Co-Parenting Through Divorce Workshop.

This workshop is designed to equip parents with skills on how to deal with anger, how to communicate with the other parent and how to understand the stages of loss and grief. The workshop is a two-session class that will be held on Dec. 5 and 7 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There is free child care on site and a material fee of $20. Pre-registration is required, as there is limited seating.

Call the Family Support Council at 782-8692 for more information to drop by the office at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
