Christ Presbyterian Church to install memorial lights

Staff reports

On the weekend of Dec. 18-19, Christ Presbyterian Church will put up blue and gold lights to outline the church building. Each blue light is to honor a family member or other loved one; each gold light is to remember a deceased family member or loved one.

Anyone in the community may participate in this project. For every $5 donation, a blue or gold light will be lit on the church. Christ Presbyterian Church is asking $5, since the lights will burn on the five consecutive nights leading up to Christmas Eve (Dec. 20-24. Larger donations may be made.

“This is a three-fold project. It will light up the church for all the community to see, honor family and loved ones and contribute to pay down the church’s year-end debt,” said church spokesperson Jan Jones.

The walkway to the church’s front door will be lighted by luminaria on Christmas Eve recognizing donors of the lights.

Call the church office at 782-3781 to participate. Christ Presbyterian Church is located at 1701 Lucerne St., Minden, at the entrance to the Winhaven housing development.
