Carson Valley Arts Association mounts exhibit at WNCC Douglas
The Western Nevada Community College will host a new art show for the month of September. The Carson Valley Art Association will have artworks on display in the lobby and the main corridor of the building. The college is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The CVAA’s main focus is to help deserving Douglas High School senior art students planning to continue their art education with a $500 art scholarship. In the past, the group has been able to provide two $500 scholarships per year for this purpose. Money is raised by the sale of the group’s artwork.
The exhibit is open to the public. There is no fee for viewing and the paintings will be priced for sale.
The CVAA has an open membership, and information about joining and meetings as well as demonstrations will be available at the show.
