Fundraiser started for Carson City resident killed in Tahoe collision
A fundraiser is underway to help the family of a 37-year-old Carson City man killed in a head-on collision on Highway 50 last week.
Hugo Parra-Solis was killed in the 7 a.m. collision at Highway 50 and Elks Point Road.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision occurred when a Ford pickup driven by a California man crossed the centerline and into the path of Parra-Solis’ Chevrolet Silverado, which was towing a trailer.
According to the Gofundme account, Solis was driving to Lake Tahoe for work.
He leaves behind three children and a wife.
Fundraisers are seeking to raise $10,000 for funeral expenses.
The driver of the Ford, Jarrad D. Dominguez, 40, was booked into Douglas County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or bond on charges including driving under the influence causing substantial bodily harm or death and driving on a license revoked for driving under the influence.
