Carpenters offer annual trip to Scandinavia this year

Staff reports

Douglas High School teacher Myron Carpenter and his wife Pat from the Carson City School District have a trip lined up for next summer. They plan on touring Scandinavia for 11 days in June. Since 1978, the Carpenters have made many trips abroad with groups from Nevada. They love to educate those who love to travel, they say.

The trip will include stops in Copenhagen, Denmark; Oslo, Norway; Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; and an added excursion to Estonia. The price for students is $2,439. Adults may travel for $2,779.

High school students and adults can travel at a low fare at this time. Field trips and excursions are combined with sightseeing to give the participants first-hand opportunity to explore these countries.

“It’s a tremendously rewarding, maturing and educational experience for all who travel. Let us further educate your student,” Carpenter said.

Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The next informational meeting for interested students and adults will be on Monday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m at the Fellowship Hall, across the street from Douglas High School Those interested may attend with a potential travel companion.
