Special to The R-C

The ninth annual “Rappin to Minden” car show revs up Saturday as Minden Park comes alive with a large variety of Inline vehicles from the Northern Nevada Inline Chapter as well as from surrounding states.

“This year we will be honored to have Mike and Sherry Foster from Santa Cruz, Calif., with us,” organizers said in a press release. “They are bringing their 1948 Frasier. This car was featured in the Oliver Stone movie ‘The Doors’ with Meg Ryan, Val Kilmer.”

The car show, sponsored by Northern Nevada Inliners, and The Minden Spring Arts and Crafts Festival will be held on Esmeralda Avenue and Minden Park.

On the list of events will be a Rappin Contest among the Inline cars with a trophy made by Tom Zachery. Also, at 2 p.m. will be a 50/50 raffle.

“This year in addition to other events, at 3 p.m. we will be having a Google hang out with other locations around the world that are celebrating Rappin to Minden,” organizers said. “The locations include Minden Australia, Minden Nebraska, Minden Germany and others.”

“Rappin to Minden” will be open to all Inline cars. Registration is $10 on a space-available basis.
