Power outage affects 9,000
An early morning outage briefly affected up to 9,000 NV Energy customers on Monday.
Power company spokeswoman Faye Andersen said the outage began at 12:52 a.m., affecting two substations in Carson City and one in Minden.
All 9,000 customers’ power was out for about six minutes, until 12:56 a.m. There are reports that some Carson Valley residents’ power was out after that time.
After the restoration, 1,107 customers remained out in Glenbrook and the surrounding area. Electricity was restored to Lake Tahoe customers at 2:36 a.m.
“Our personnel patrolled the line serving Glenbrook and found nothing wrong, so (Monday) morning they patrolled it again and still have not determined a cause,” Andersen said.
