Excavator takes big bite out of butter building

Staff Reports

This view of the Bently Heritage site wouldn't have been possible a week ago. Work continues to demolish the rear of the butter building.

Minden, Nev. — Demolition work on the Bently Heritage site has moved from the large blue building to the old Minden Creamery itself.

Plans are to remove the entire back of the building, leaving only the historic façade designed by architect Frederick DeLongchamps in the first years of the 20th Century.

One more building, the brown metal mercantile building that once housed a thrift shop, is left for the excavator to take down.
