Fatal officer-involved shooting in Sunridge

Genoa, Nev. — Investigators were still working at the scene of a fatal officer involved shooting on Sunday morning.

A man was shot and killed after deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Shadow Lane 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

During the course of the response one deputy was struck by a vehicle and the suspect killed.

The deputy was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by authorities, nor have the names of the four deputies involved.

State and Carson City investigators were at the scene in Sunridge on Sunday morning gathering evidence in the shooting.

Shadow Lane was closed off by deputies while investigators worked.

Midnight: Douglas County deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Shadow Lane 9:30 p.m. Saturday that resulted in a fatal officer-involved shooting.

The address is located in Sunridge near the Carson-Douglas county line.

Four deputies were involved. One was taken for treatment with nonlife-threatening injuries.

According to Douglas County, an investigation into the shooting is being handled by Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada Division of Investigation.

Shadow Lane remains closed while investigators are at the scene of the incident.

Officers on scene reported medics were working on a suspect, who was down. They then called for an investigator and a coroner.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. The deputy is being taken for treatment.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Shadow will be closed while an investigation is conducted.

There is no threat to the public, authorities say.

A unit with lights to aid in the investigation has been called to the scene.
