Bowers Mansion Festival coming this weekend
The Bowers Mansion Festival will feature a number of bluegrass traditional and folk music bands plus workshops, food and crafts on Saturday.
The event will be held at Bowers Mansion Park on Old U.S. 395 South, halfway between Reno and Carson City. Audiences will need to take a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the music.
Cost of the event is $18 at the gate and $15 in advance (until Friday, July 28). Tickets may be purchased at Wayne’s Family Music in Gardnerville and the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St., Carson City.
Among the bands expected to perform are Ron Spears and Within Tradition, Doodoo Wah, Comstock Cowboys, French Creek, Slide Moutain Boys, The Back Forty, Mary Murphy, Saddle Rash and the NNBA Volunteer Orchestra, among others.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m..
Special parking is available for the handicapped and infirm, and no dogs are allowed except seeing eye dogs. The festival is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association, Washoe Parks and Recreation Division, Maytan Music and KTHX100.1 FM.
