Book repair class offered for school volunteers

Staff reports

An introduction to the art of book repair offering hands-on instruction by artisan Sandy Wright will be held at C. C. Meneley Elementary School Nov. 7 and 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers trained at the sessions will continue to meet weekly to repair library books from all elementary schools in the Douglas County School District.

Supplies and tools have been made available through a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation, said CCMES librarian Dianne Rogers.

Adults – parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles of students – willing to receive the training and commit an hour each week repairing books are welcome to the free workshop.

The workshop will be held in the library media center at CCMES, 1446 Muir Dr., Gardnerville.

Preregistration is required. Call Rogers at 265-3154 during school hours.
