Book Fairs earn money for charities

Staff reports

Norma Smith, Marge Breister, Jean Miesen, June Hunter and Barbara Olson, volunteers at Carson Valley Medical Center, helped raise over $1,000 this year at three annual “Books Are Fun” book fairs.

The book fairs are held in May and November and also during the annual Community Health Fair in October at Carson Valley Medical Center.

The proceeds are donated to charities each year, and this year, the volunteers donated $500 to the Family Support Council for the Domestic Violence Shelter and $500 to the Douglas County chapter of the American Cancer Society.
