Book fair set for PHES

Staff reports

A book fair is scheduled for Pinon Hills Elementary School during all school hours, Aug. 17-21, and during Back-to-School Night set for Aug. 20, 6-8 p.m.

Students in all grades and their parents are invited to buy books. The book fair allows the school to “earn” books for the library and classrooms according to the amount of book sales, said Mary Brady of the Parent-Teacher Organization, whose president Nancy Hamlett is organizing the book fair.

The book fair also gives students and parents an opportunity to shop for quality reading material, Brady said.

Back-to-School Night is an opportunity for parents to meet their students’ teachers and get an overview of what their children will be working on during the school year. After visiting their children’s classrooms, parents may visit the book fair, which will be located on the stage in the multipurpose room.

For more information, call the school at 267-3622.
