Barton Skilled Nursing welcomes gifts, visits
Some 40 residents of Barton Skilled Nursing at Virginia Creek south of Gardnerville would benefit from visits, gifts and entertainment this holiday season.
Anyone who would like to stop by and talk to residents, bake cookies or play the piano is welcome, according to activity director Barbara Adams.
Some of the residents have family, but many do not, so Christmas visits and gifts are needed. A Christmas party is slated for Dec. 23 at 2 p.m., and interested people are welcome, Adams said.
Among needed gifts are men’s slippers, size large, scarves, hats and mittens, aftershave and deodorant, sweats sizes large and extra large and socks, size large; women’s slippers, size medium and large, cologne, powder and deodorant, scarves, hats and mittens and socks, size large.
Both men and women would like disposable cameras, snack-sized chips, cookies and pretzels, and regular soft chocolates or sugar-free candies, cookies and cakes, plus ice cream and toppings.
Needed Christmas gifts are itemized on a tree at Raley’s, Adams added.
