Bartender’s Night to raise money for cancer society

Staff reports

The French Bar owned by Renee Harrington in Gardnerville, across from Sharkey’s, will be hosting a Celebrity Bartender Night for Carson Advocates for Cancer Victims July 31.

Celebrities include Judge Mike Gibbons, Undersheriff Ron Pierini, pharmacist Dr. Tom Hunter, Dewey Jay with the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District, Don Forrester with the school board, veterinarian Dr. Mike Palmer and Drs. Alla and Paul Goldman.

Celebrity waitresses include Ursula McManus, Piper Doucette and Susan Brunc.

“Everyone is welcome to join the fun. The tips the waitresses and bartenders receive are your donations. Ask your serve to be creative. Some even sing. Hors d’oeuvres will be available,” said Harrington.

Carson Advocates for Cancer Victims (CACV) raises funds for cancer patients who can’t afford pain medication, treatment or surgeries. The all-volunteer organization is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit that serves the Douglas, Carson, Lyon and Storey counties.

For more information, call 883-7477. The office is located at 3259 Fairview Dr. in Carson City.
