Augustine to address Sierra Nevada GOP Women’s lunch
Newly-elected State Controller Kathy Augustine will address the Jan. 13 meeting of Sierra Nevada Republican Women at 11:30 a.m. at Sharkey’s in Gardnerville to inaugurate 1999 program of talks by women in state government.
The former state senator from Clark County is well-known to Northern Nevada Republicans and previously addressed the group during the campaign.

In 1993, she represented Nevada as an American Council of Young Political Leaders delegate to Russia and the Ukraine.
The recipient of many awards, Augustine is listed in “Distinguished Women in Southern Nevada” and “Who’s Who of American Women.” She is also active in a number of charitable causes and has served as chairman of the Electrical Industry Restructuring Committee for the Council of State Governments and chairman of the Trade and Transportation Task Force Subcommittee for the American Legislative Exchange Council.
Previously, she served on the Arts and Tourism Committee and Women’s NET WORK Board of Directors for the National Conference of State Legislatures.
