The Topaz Sagehens are turning 37,and inviting the public to a birthday party and membership drive.

The celebration is noon Wednesday at the Topaz Ranch Estates community building on Carter Way.

“Lunch will be served, and of course, cake and ice cream,” club president Janet Bryant said. “In addition, the Douglas County Sheriff’s K-9 division have been invited to showcase the wonderful dogs in their unit.”

The Sagehens are a nonprofit organization that assist community charities and groups. They also provide six college scholarships to Douglas seniors.

“Each year, we host a Christmas party for our area children. The party is always a success, and the children love meeting Santa and receiving a gift which is donated by our Sagehen organization,” Bryant said. “We have a lot of fun and are dedicated to helping those in our community.”
