Argentinian Marco Lanz killed in horse-motorcycle wreck
An Argentinian national was identified as the victim of a fatal Sunday night collision with a horse in central Nevada.
Marco Lanz, 29, from Buenos Aires was killed on Highway 6 in Mineral County at about 7:20 p.m. when the 2013 Harley Davidson he was riding west collided with a horse.
His passenger, Maria C. Ferrer, 30, of Buenos Aires was injured in the accident. The horse was killed.
The couple was heading west about 14 miles from the state line, leading a trip with three motorcycles traveling together as a group. A horse was apparently running across the highway and collided with the blue Harley-Davidson and ejected both riders. Lanz sustained fatal injuries at the scene while Ferrer was transported by ground ambulance and taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Her current medical condition was not known this morning.
None of the three other motorcyclists collided and were able to stop safely along the shoulder of the highway and render aid. The horse was also killed in the tragic event.
