‘Irish Eyes Murder’ knocks ‘em dead
Special to The R-C
The Carson Valley Arts Council and Theatre of Arts Discipline’s murder mystery dinner March 15 was an overwhelming success.
Close to 200 guests were entertained with TOAD’s performance of the “Irish Eyes Murder” starring Rich Garrett as Liam MacNamara, Brynn Garrett as Eileen MacNamara, Robert Miller in the duel roles of Deirdre Divine and Detective Bolander, Melody Ricketts as Kathleen Kelly, Wendy Hoag as Fiona MacNamara, Sabrina Martin as Lulu O’Laye, Jack Hollingshead as Michael Murphy, Austin Dickey as Dick Ritchardt and Marcus Cotton as Tex Cassidy.
Their acting provided great mystery, suspense, and more than a few laughs.
The gourmet buffet, provided by the Carson Valley Inn, matched the St. Patrick’s Day theme to a tee.
With entrees like corned beef and cabbage, beef shephard’s pie, and apple and cider marinated pork, the guests couldn’t help but get into the St. Patrick’s Day theme of the evening.
And the guests responded with generous bidding on the 50 items in the silent auction; some contributed to CVAC’s capital campaign by contributing to the big check, or buying tickets for the original quilt that CVAC will be giving away at its last concert of the year, May 10.
Thanks goes to the many Carson Valley Arts Council board members, events committee members, and friends who helped by soliciting auction items, buying or selling tickets, staffing the entrance, the silent auction, the big check, or selling raffle tickets.
