Amodei weighs in on Trump
October 14, 2016
The upcoming presidential election is only 25 days away, and the next few weeks will be instrumental in getting voters educated, informed and decided.
The Sierra Nevada Republican Women hosted their monthly luncheon at the Carson Valley Inn with guest speaker, Congressman Mark Amodei.
Amodei said that he doesn't agree with the choices of House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate candidate Joe Heck to shy away from supporting the Republican candidate Donald Trump.
"Who ends up in the White House is more important," said Amodei.
“When push comes to shove, at the end of the day, we need that guy. Let’s make sure we have the ability to spank our own child in the U.S. Senate.”Rep. Mark Amodei

While Amodei said that he doesn't agree with everything that Trump does, he is still going to show his support.
He also said that while it is okay to be mad at Heck for not supporting Trump, when it is time to vote, Republicans should still support him because if a Democrat wins there isn't much they can do.
"When push comes to shove, at the end of the day, we need that guy," said Amodei. "Let's make sure we have the ability to spank our own child in the U.S. Senate."
Amodei said that he is still supporting Trump even if it takes others a little longer to get back on board.
"We aren't on the Trump wagon, we are pushing it," said Amodei.
Amodei joked that when Trump gets sworn in, he will visit the White House and see if Ryan needed anything while he was there.
"Do you need anything from the White House because I know they're not talking to your lily white ass," said Amodei.
He also joked that Trump's campaign should take away his phone between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m.
"Just stop it! I don't care if you're right," said Amodei in response to Trump's 3 a.m. twitter rant.
The one thing that all in attendance seemed to agree on was that Mike Pence was a good pick for Vice President.
"I think (Trump) is going to be a great CEO," said Amodei. "He made a great VP pick."
In regards to all the anger surrounding the vulgar remakes Trump made on tape 10 years ago, Amodei said that it is okay to be angry, but to come back.
"Take a few days, get it out of your system," said Amodei. "What matters is who is sitting in the White House."
Amodei said that he is tired of having a Democrat for a president, and is tired of having to deal with Barack Obama.
"I don't care that you're black, green, white, whatever. I don't like you because you suck," said Amodei.
Amodei joked that once Trump is president they can send him to 'remedial elephant charm school.'
Amodei answered questions and talked for about a half hour before ending on his plea to vote for Trump and Heck in November.
"You can keep your anger, but at the end of the day, I think it's pretty important who sits in that oval office," said Amodei.
