Alpine Fire and Rescue will benefit from Guest Chef Night

Staff reports

The Alpine County Fire/Rescue Auxiliary will host a Guest Chef Night on March 9 at the Alpine Restaurant in Markleeville, Calif., from 5 to 8 p.m.

Dinner will be country fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables, rolls, beverage and homemade dessert, all for $7.95. The Alpine Restaurant will donate $5 per meal to the fire/rescue auxiliary.

The fire/rescue auxiliary provides food, drink and rehab for firefighters, EMTs and search and rescue personnel. Not only do they provide this service in Alpine county, but if mutual aid is requested from Alpine County departments into the Carson Valley area, they will provide the same service.

During the Autumn Hills fire, they provided some of the first food and drink available to firefighters.
