Alpine County Arts offers workshop on how to get published
On Saturday, Aug. 26, 10 a.m. to noon, the Alpine County Arts Commission will hold a workshop on “How to Do Research and Get Published.” Dr. Lyn Landauer, currently associate professor of history at Lake Tahoe Community College, will be the workshop leader.
Dr. Landauer was a teacher for 25 years before she became a published writer. She is the author of several books, including “The Mountain Sea, a History of Lake Tahoe, published in 1996.
In 1999, she and her husband wrote “Pearl,” a history of the United States Navy in Pearl Harbor. The book is now in its second printing.
Landauer occasionally writes for the Tahoe Daily Tribune, several professional journals and is part of the writing staff for a soon-to-be published Encyclopedia of Science. She has had one novel published this year and is working on her next.
The fee for the workshop is $10 and will be held at the Alpine County Arts Commission meeting room at 270 Laramie Street in Markleeville, Calif.
