69-year old man returns to Douglas to face 2014 theft charge
October 24, 2018
A man suspected of a 2014 raid on the Topsy Walmart was taken into custody on Monday.
Carson City resident Nolan Bonds, 69, was picked up at Churchill County Jail on an East Fork Justice Court case.
Bonds and another man allegedly entered the Walmart 9 p.m. Aug. 9, 2014, where they grabbed two carts and participated in a shopping spree, throwing electronic toys, tablets, rifle scopes, fish finders, a pellet gun, clothes and other items inside.
The pair wrapped the goods in clothes they'd taken off the shelves and made for the garden center where they tried to shove the items through the security awning.
Security officers interfered with the theft, which involved $1,900 in merchandise.
The men left in an older red car.
