49er helmet to be auctioned

A helmet worn and autographed by former defensive back Ronnie Lott of the San Francisco 49ers will be featured at the Smith Valley Churches Harvest Auction which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Smith Valley Community Hall in Wellington. Two tickets to the Sunday, Nov. 8, San Francisco 49ers vs. the Carolina Panthers football game will also be on the auction block.

The doors of the annual event will open at 10 a.m., with the auction beginning at 11:30 a.m. Other items featured in the auction will be a new oak sofa table, new large freezer, new gas barbecue, two authentic Navajo rungs, antique child’s sled, antique egg basket, caned-back rocking chair, handmade afghan by Nora Van Norman, original pen and ink framed print by Gordie Glazier, numerous framed liquor advertisements, antique scale, and many more items available the day of the sale.

Ronnie Lott’s helmet is donated by Craig Walsh, son of former 49ers coach Bill Walsh. Craig Walsh works at Menlo College in California.

Added attractions will include a Kountry Kitchen, Craft Boutique, Silent Auction, movies for the kids and a “Junque Boutique.” A drawing will also be held for various prizes.
