4-H council to hold food drive

Staff reports

The Douglas County 4-H Council will conduct a canned food drive the week of May 20. 4-H members will distribute bags that were donated by Scolari’s along with a postcard explaining what the drive is for and when club members will be returning to pick up donations.

The Carson Valley Community Food Closet director told the Douglas County 4-H Council that spring is the most difficult time of year to get donations, and food supplies dwindle dangerously low at this time. Bags are to be left out on the scheduled day of pickup, Friday, May 26.

There will be two alternate drop-off sites as well, one located at the Douglas County Extension office, 782-9960, and the other, Superior Car Wash, 782-4447.
