4-H camp signups are now
Youths aged 9-12 years old are headed for beautiful Lake Tahoe this summer to attend a week of camping fun on the shores of the Lake.
Openings still exist in the Western 4-H Camp, which runs July 5-11, and offers plenty of fun. This camp is open to all youth from Douglas, Carson City, Storey and Washoe counties. Campers don’t have to be 4-H members. Activities include swimming, canoeing, baseball, soccer, arts and crafts, horseshoes, bird watching, dancing, volleyball, cooperative games and nightly campfires and programs.
The camp’s theme is “4-H – Are You Into It?” Campers will become better acquainted with the natural setting while engaging in a number of learning experiences.
There is a May 15 deadline for enrolling and the fee is $165, which includes meals, lodging, camp photo and T-shirt, and all activities. There are limited slots due to fewer adult chaperones signing up this year. To learn more about being an adult chaperone or to sign up your kids, call the Douglas County Office of Nevada Cooperative Extension at 782-9960.
