Tigers’ Ovard named to first team

Douglas High School baseball had senior Jackson Ovard named to the Class 5A North all-league teams announced this week.

The Tigers had a second-team selection in Grayson Kamper alongside five honorable mention nods.

Carson High School had three players earn all-region honors.

Ovard was chosen first-team at third base by the Class 5A North coaches.

The Tiger senior, who was a first team selection last season at utility, posted a .296 batting average with 29 hits, seven doubles, four home runs and a team-high 25 RBIs.

The Feather River College football commit hit his four home runs between March 25 and April 24.

As a pitcher, Ovard posted a 2.10 ERA in 30 innings with 25 strikeouts to 11 walks.

Kamper, one of Douglas’ starting pitchers, put together a 3.39 ERA in 33 innings with 27 strikeouts and 16 walks.

Bilderback, a sophomore, hit .255 this spring with three doubles and four RBIs. He finished the season with a .715 OPS.Β 

HONORABLE MENTION

Carson High had three players named honorable mention.

Senior Tyler LaFollette hit .312 with six doubles, a triple and 16 RBIs. LaFollette scored a team-high 21 runs out of the leadoff spot.

Ethan Cook and Chase Grundy also were named honorable mention.

Cook, a junior, hit .309 with a team-best 20 RBIs and a team-high eight doubles.

Grundy, Carson’s catcher, finished his sophomore season with a .269 batting average and 14 RBIs.

Douglas had five players named honorable mention.

Catcher Jeffrey Peters, who earned first team honors last season, led the team with a .370 batting average and 10 doubles. Peters had 27 hits this season and tallied a triple in 28 games.

Seniors Luke Main and Jake Hoover were also chosen honorable mention.

Main hit .292 and scored a team-high 24 runs while Hoover posted a .250 batting average with two doubles and 12 runs scored.

Titus Gocke hit .230 in 2025 and recorded five doubles, two triples, and 11 RBIs.

Senior Duncan DeLange was also honorable mention, with a 3.16 ERA in 31 innings alongside 38 strikeouts to 32 walks.
