Swim season continues for Tiger qualifiers

Douglas High School swim and dive have several state qualifiers after this weekend’s regional meet at the Moana Swim Center in Reno.

As teams, both the Tiger girls and boys finished in fifth place.

On the girls side, Douglas will send Caitlin Taylor to state in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Taylor took third in the 200-yard individual event. Carli Stevenson, Mia Bourassa and Tierra Mackay accompanied her in the 400 relay, which took fourth.

Kiley Wagstaff was third in the 1-meter dive to advance to state while Kai Ensign and Timothy Gleason were second and fourth, respectively, in the boys dive competition. Each earned a spot in the state meet.

Matthew Sutton took second place in the 200-yard freestyle to earn a state spot and qualified in the 100-yard freestyle with a second-place finish.

Baylen Rowlett was fourth in the 100-yard butterfly to grab a state spot, as well.

The 2025 state swim and dive meet will be held back at Moana Swim Center on May 16-17.
